ANGUILLA VOTED ONE OF THE "TOP 10 CARIBBEAN ISLANDS" IN CONDE NAST READER'S CHOICE AWARD
Viceroy Anguilla, Cap Juluca and Cuisinart Resort and Spa also won coveted spots on the "Top 25 Resorts in the Caribbean"

ANGUILLA, B.W.I. – October 23, 2013 – The votes are in and the island of Anguilla, known for its award-winning powder-white sand beaches, unspoiled beauty, world-class resorts and authentic Anguillian warmth and hospitality, was voted one of the "Top 10 Islands in the Caribbean & Atlantic" by the Conde Nast Reader's Choice Awards. In addition, Viceroy Anguilla, Cap Juluca and Cuisinart Resort and Spa were voted on the "Top 25 Resorts in the Caribbean" list, making Anguilla the only island in this category with three hotels. With 33 pristine beaches, more than 100 restaurants, rich culture and heritage in a laid back atmosphere it is no surprise that this little island gem made a big splash with travelers.

"On behalf of the people of Anguilla, I must say that we are truly honored to be recognized and appreciated by our visitors for all that the destination has to offer," commented Candis Niles, Director of the Anguilla Tourist Board. "For us, it has always been about the people.  We pride ourselves in welcoming our visitors into our community with open arms and sharing with them our unique culture and heritage, our extraordinary cuisine, our world-class accommodations, which offer a range of options from luxury 5-star resorts and villas, to intimate Charming Escapes properties, to quaint inns, bed and breakfast and self-contained apartments, thus creating the quintessential Caribbean experience – the way a vacation used to be."

Voted number seven, with a rating of 82.9, "fans" of Anguilla listed the destination as the ideal island if visitors "need to unwind" or "reconnect with yourself." Other readers recommended Anguilla, where "the island's untouched beauty is only surpassed" by that of the "world-class resorts," "lively inhabitants," "warm island weather" and "simply stunning beaches," all making Anguilla "one of the last-hidden paradises."

The Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Survey, established in 1988, is available through a secure website at condenasttraveler.com/vote. This year's tabulations of 79,268 responses were calculated by Equation Research. The questionnaire contains lists of candidates in various categories including cities, hotels and islands. Candidates must receive a required minimum number of responses to be eligible for a Readers' Choice Award. Evaluation: Individual candidates are judged on a set of criteria relevant to their category, based on a standard five-point scale: excellent, very good, good, fair, and poor. The percentage of excellent and very good ratings determines the final score.
