Agency increases scope of work and adds sales and marketing team

MIAMI, Fla. – September 13, 2011 – Cheryl Andrews Marketing Communications (CAMC), located in Coral Gables, Florida, today announced it has renewed the contract with its longest standing client, the Tourism Development Company Limited (TDC) for Trinidad and Tobago.  CAMC has served as the agency of record for the dual island nation of Trinidad and Tobago for the past 16 years.  The new, three-year contract increases the agency's public relations activity and includes a sales and e-marketing component.

"We are delighted to continue our relationship with the TDC and expand the services we offer them. We know the destination, believe we understand its needs and can get the job done efficiently and effectively, which are just a few of the core components to our ongoing success with the client," said President Cheryl Andrews.  "Being selected to continue our work with the destination's tourism division and adding to the depth of our services is a testament to our team's hard work, dedication and creative communications strategy.  We look forward to helping grow both visitors and tourism investment for this sophisticated and classically beautiful island nation."

CAMC developed a new strategic program following a formal RFP distributed internationally by the destination's tourism division.  The new program expands the agency's public relations efforts with digital services, events, promotions and media relations throughout the United States and incorporates the addition of a new sales and marketing division in partnership with The Travel Marketing Network.  CAMC selected The Travel Marketing Network, which specializes in hotel and tourism infrastructure, branding and marketing strategies for the private and public sectors in the Caribbean, for its knowledge of the destination, its markets and its people.
With daily flights to Trinidad from a number of major U.S. gateway cities and weekly flights to Tobago from JFK, the sales and marketing team will focus on promoting Trinidad and Tobago's diverse tourism product using a number of new and traditional tactics to push tourism in a positive direction.  A strong emphasis will target social media platforms to drive interest and demand through online portals while also reinforcing the value of traditional tourism partners by reaching out to wholesalers, tour operators and travel agents.
The Tourism Development Company Limited (TDC) is a state enterprise of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, mandated to develop and market Trinidad and Tobago's tourism product and improve the local tourism sector.  The TDC is the implementation arm of the Ministry of Tourism, dedicated to realizing the vision for tourism in Trinidad and Tobago. The idea is to emphasize the uniqueness of the two islands, to provide an internationally-competitive tourism product, complemented by a comprehensive, fully-functional physical infrastructure and a modern, competitive institutional framework which is supported by the people of Trinidad and Tobago.

In addition to the TDC, CAMC has also recently added Grand Lucayan Bahamas, a Radisson Resort in Grand Bahama and Mount Cinnamon boutique villa resort, a Peter de Savary property, in Grenada to its growing roster of travel and hospitality related clients.
