Resort teaches children about Turks & Caicos' natural wildlife through SeaFari experience

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos – March 14, 2013
– With the 43rd annual Earth Day commemoration just around the corner, there is no better time to remind travelers that the celebration does not have to start or stop there. Recently named among the top 500 hotels in the world and ranked the number one hotel for location in the Caribbean by Travel + Leisure readers, Ocean Club Resorts is eager to remind families and guests that they can appreciate and explore the natural wonders of the Turks & Caicos  year round with the resort's educational SeaFari scavenger hunt. Additionally, the resort will be offering huge savings on summer getaways with special Earth Day offers.

The SeaFari program, exclusively designed for kids visiting Ocean Club Resorts, teaches children about the resort's endeavors to cultivate the presence of wildlife and educates them about native plants, invertebrates, reptiles and birds found at both resort properties, Ocean Club and Ocean Club West. The SeaFari Guidebook is given to families upon check in and provides visual and written descriptions for identification, highlighting fun facts about Turks & Caicos' organisms. These descriptions encourage children to not only find wildlife but explore how it lives and how humans fit into this natural world. The program inspires kids to appreciate and discover the natural environment around them. Kids who complete the SeaFari and bring the guidebook back to the front desk receive an explorer prize badge based upon their score. Not only will kids get the chance to become a Green, Junior or Master Explorer, but also, more importantly, they will come away from their Ocean Club Resorts vacation understanding that there is more to paradise than superb swimming pools, pristine white beaches and sand castles.

In an effort to celebrate Earth Day and to give guests the chance to experience the SeaFari scavenger hunt first-hand, the resort is offering exclusive Earth Day savings, welcoming families to get the most value out of their Caribbean eco-friendly getaway. This special offer is available for travel between May 1 and August 31, 2013, and allows guests to enjoy up to 30 percent savings off any seven-night stay in a one-, two-, or three-bedroom suite. For guests looking to reserve a four- or six-night stay, the resort is offering up to 25 percent savings for any one-, two- or three-bedroom reservation. In order to take advantage of this limited-time offer, guests must book their summer getaway between April 1 and April 30, 2013, and mention "Earth Day" at the time of booking. Please note: this offer is based on nightly rates only and cannot be combined with any additional discount or savings.

Additionally, the resort is excited to announce the recent launch of the SeaFari Kids photo contest on Facebook. All past or future guests are welcome to enter their child's nature-loving photographs taken during their stay at Ocean Club Resorts for the chance to win prizes. Photos can be submitted now through May 31, 2013, and there will be a voting period from June 1 through June 21, 2013, where Facebook page fans can vote for their favorite photos. Winners will be announced on June 24, 2013, and prizes include a Sony 12 Mega Pixel digital camera for the grand prize winner and a custom t-shirt with their winning photo for the second place winner.   The third place winner's photo will be displayed on the Ocean Club Resorts website.
